The Google Earth Blog shares kml files for recent weather satellite animations in Google Earth. From the blog: "[The kml files] will load up the most recent few hours of infrared (IR) satellite photos as a time animation in Google Earth 4. This means you can watch animations of clouds moving during the past few hours on the 3D surface of GE."

The GEB links to a KML bundle for weather data with a lot of content from the University of Illinois's Atmospheric Sciences department.
They call it "Das Google Earth Weather Bundle".
Content list includes: "Surface. SPC and NWS Convective Watches and Warnings. Soundings. Radar. Satellite. Hurricanes. Great Lakes Data. Ocean Data. Fire Weather. Air Quality Index. Historical Event."
