Andre Lewis writes "While coding a Google Maps application recently, I needed some neighborhood outlines for major cities. Various searches yielded nothing, which made me think: what if we could all contribute to a simple wiki-style shape repository? ShapeWiki was born soon thereafter. ShapeWiki features 1) a point-and-click editor for creating new shapes; 2) a tagged, searchable shape database; 3) import and export in GeoRSS, KML, and JSON. Shapes are offered under the Creative Commons Attribution License. Notice the "Reference Image" when you try creating a shape. Enter an image URL there to pin an image to the map so you can trace neighborhoods, etc. Here's an image of the neighborhoods in San Francisco: http://real-estate-us.com/images/SanFranciscoNeigh bourhoodsCA.gif"
