From a cnet news article : "Next week the National Football League is broadcasting live in 3D a game between the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders to theaters in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston. The event, to be held December 4, is a demonstration to show how the technology can be used to provide a more realistic experience in a theater or in the home."
This could usher in a new sense of visualization of live events. Take a look at this previous SlashGeo post to see the potential of using such a technology. Since the article link to the demo is bad, here is direct link.

Christian Spanring's blog has an entry in it with nothing but a link to this interesting use of a panoramic camera. It looks like they captured live action 360 degree panorama movies, and playing them back in a flash control (using papervision 3D engine). The result is a movie where you can see the action from any angle. Pretty neat, give it a go with the link from his website.

I came across a pretty interesting use of the canvas tag found on newer browsers. Please visit the site (especially if you have FireFox) to see it live in action. Here is part of the summary : "After browsing through the code of Jacob Seidelin's Super Mario Kart demo, I was inspired to take the code and attempt to create a GPS-navigation system experience using publicly available roadmap tiles. The final result is a proof of concept that works pretty damn well in Firefox (and not quite that well in other browsers :)."
